Lincoln closed his eyes briefly, shielding the sun from them, and trying to not think about everything that should happen in his life. He should be strapped to a chair somewhere... or worse dead. That was what fate dealt him, and he had cheated fate out of his life. Now he was standing in front of yet another enigma in his life, Kate. Something he wasn't owed, and surely didn't deserve, but wanted none the less.

Opening his eyes he wasn't sure if he was even ready to face what was ahead of him. His son was more than likely released just to lure him out, and he wasn't going to take any one's reasons or thoughts on the topic to heart. He didn't care about the risk. He tried to explain it to Michael, thinking that Michael would be the one to understand at least, especially after all he risked to save him.

He nodded to Kate, still slightly squinting from the sun behind her, "It's a trap. I know it, but I can't not go. I can't just let him sit there not knowing where I am."

Lincoln took Kate's elbow lightly in his hand and led her aside, "I know you were leaving. I know you don't want to stay, just... I have to use the little boys room. I want to believe that when I get back... you'll still be here."

He met her eyes, and brushed a strand of her brown hair from her cheek, "Just stay... a bit longer, for me?"

He wanted to wait for a reply, but he did actually have to go to the bathroom really bad, and he knew if he stayed longer he'd risk something embarrassing. A small laugh and he winked at her before heading to the bathroom. He just hoped she'd stay.
