His hand reached up to take hers against his cheek, letting his callouse fingers slip around her grip lightly. At her soft slightly dazed hi, he simply smiled back at her his mouth pressing to her palm. He didn't even care if Michael saw him this way, because he knew he had been like this with Veronica, and even Kate was something more than V had ever been to him. It felt like a small betrayal to her memory, but Kate filled the hole that had been there for so long, and without reason... or question.

"Hi." It was a simple response and yet somehow it said everything he wanted to express to her, with just the tone of it all. "I didn't think I'd see you again, and really... I think that would have made me letting you leave the worst choice I've made this whole run."

He wanted to keep talking, to keep explaining but he was just drawn in by her eyes and his line of sight kept falling to her lips. The way she tugged the bottom one into her mouth a bit out of nerves, and the slight shine they had from his kiss. His lungs pulled in her scent as he inhaled for a moment before he couldn't help but want to kiss her again.

It wasn't quite the intense fiery kiss from before, but it was deep and slow, full of a lingering of intent and a promise that he didn't plan on breaking. When he pulled from her this time, he felt a bit heady a haze around Kate, as the sun cast down behind her. A slight glow around the strands of her hair that kept flying free. A strong palm brushed the stray hairs down along the back of her head, cradling her in his grasp.

"I'm not letting you run again."
