Lincoln knew it was a trap. It didn't matter though, because it was his son. LJ wasn't something they could just bait out on a string and expect him to jump. The only problem was that was exactly what he was doing. No amount of Michael reasoning with him was going to change it either. He wouldn't allow for a message to be passed, or a ticket to be bought. He needed his son, and he needed to make sure that they couldn't fuck with him anymore.
They had the money, and they were stopping just for moment. Michael had a call to make and Lincoln needed to piss. It was vulgar according to Michael, but he was beyond politeness after a week and a half of worrying about someone else.
He couldn't push her out of his mind, and every moment he started to stare off into space trying to remember the small slope of her back, Michael would mention her. Try to get him to talk about her, and he just couldn't do it. It was like talking about her made it real, made it something that he just let go. Just like everything else in his life he watched it slip through his fingers and now he just wanted to keep her in the front of his mind.
Michael slammed the door shut as he got out, taking a bit of his frustration out on it, and Lincoln just shook his head. It was going to be a hell of a trip if this was how they were going to be. The silence wasn't a comfortable situation, but it was the only one Lincoln would deal with.
He didn't want to talk about *her* to anyone.
Then as he climbed out of the car shifting his weight on his feet his eyes caught legs, and trailed up to meet her eyes. Eyes he never thought he'd see again. He glanced around cautiously before moving toward her. Part of him thought that this was the trap, because here she was out in the open, exposed to the world, and he was moving closer.
Whatever space that had been between them closed quickly, because she couldn't move from his line of sight. Even if she had fled, he would have chased her.
Two strong hands cupped the sides of her face, tilting her mouth up to his as he pressed his lips to hers, hard and fiery. Wasting no time in trying to repay her for the kiss she left him with over a week ago. A hand dropped from her cheek and wrapped around her body pulling her close to him. If she wanted to run... he'd stop her.

He wouldn't let her slip away this time.
